about

Inspired by the brave demonstrators at the G20 last summer, this is an anthem for united, peaceful protest.

lyrics

What we've got is one big shot
To show the world just what we're not
We're not black bloc, we can't be bought
And these politics have got to stop

We've got the stomp-stomp-clap and the slogans down
Down with profits, nail in the coffin
It's a broken system so we take to the streets
Get your wheatpaste, we're going to spread some peace
Come on Kensington, Church Street, Moss Park, Bloor East
Leslieville, Chinatown, even Little Italy
From Yorkville to Rexdale tell Bay Street how you feel
We'll march in solidarity to end social disparity

We need the Lakeshore and East York and Queen West and Danforth
Together with one voice to call on the big boys
Our message is simple, our methods are peaceful
It's time to get vocal, the future is hopeful

What we've got is one big shot
To show the world we're not black bloc
We don't want another Kristallnacht
These politics have got to stop

They're drowning our message with arson, with violence
Yeah, we want change too, but I can't sit in silence
While they create war zones from neighbourhood shops and
I can't shake the feeling we're being co-opted

So march on and stand strong Etobicoke, Markham
No matter your neighbourhood, rally for common good
Round up your neighbours, write to your newspapers
We can't be suppressed by no truncheons or tasers
